smile with your liver

August 14, 2010

Tonight i went and watched a movie with my dearest sisters. We went to see Eat Pray Love. I really enjoyed the movie, but it was probably because i have this huge sense of wanting adventure in my life and the woman in the movie goes on three adventures throughout a year after going through a divorce. When she was in Bali, she met with a medicine man everyday and he tells her to meditate every night, to sit and smile, not only smile with her face but with her liver.

This is a pretty funny concept in the movie, but i completely agree. We only get a short
slot on this earth so i believe that it is important, if not crucial, just to smile.

Smile when you have no idea where you are going to sleep tomorrow.
Smile when you have the rumblies then the toilet won’t flush.
Smile when a child is crying and you get to hold them.
Smile when someone honks and flips you off for not noticing the light is green.
Smile when you don’t know the language.
Smile because someone still loves you.
Smile when your plans get ruined and you get to start over.
Smile when you drive with no destination in mind.
Smile when your heart hurts, because it will eventually feel better.
Smile when you have no clean clothes so you choose the best smelling shirt.
Smile because you never know who needs to see it.

Another fact of life that i have recently, within the last 2 months, discovered is that internal pain is much worse than external. There is even sometimes a physical ache that can conjure in one’s chest because of emotional pain. Everyone has it at one point or another, most people will probably have it more than once. so what can we do? A smile is just the beginning. I want to live my life in a way that can change other people’s worlds. How can i do this? Obviously not on my own. But since i have the perfect Love inside of me that has changed my life, i know that He will pour out of me into others. I smile because of that.

On a more random note, there is a taco trailer called “Velvet Elvis” on my sister’s corner, we are definitely going to check it out later. Until next time, souri!
